With each A-PBR unit requiring only a 9 sqm area for installation, our technology maximizes space efficiency without compromising output. The vertical configuration of the PBRs allows for efficient use of space, enabling high-volume production in compact areas, ideal for businesses with space constraints.

Our A-PBR system is designed to meet the specific needs of various industries. Whether it’s producing Omega-3 rich microalgae for nutraceuticals, or nutrient-rich feed for aquaculture, our technology can be tailored to produce the specific microalgae strains required by different sectors. This industry-agnostic approach allows us to provide customized microalgae solutions.

Durable System

The 5-cubic-meter system was designed to provide the optimal conditions for the cultivation of commercial algae varieties for food and cosmetics. In addition, the system provides a cost-effective solution in hatcheries by enabling a fresh supply of quality culture, while significantly reducing costs.

Light Intensity

The technology simulates a natural light intensity where some of the time the culture is in almost complete darkness and the rest of the time it grows in light that allows photosynthesis. The system has artificial lighting regulated by a controller that turns on the light when the natural light is insufficient.

Feeding

The culture is fed with fertilizers with a doze pulse pump that feed the system every few seconds. The amount of fertilizer fed to the culture is adjusted for consumption. The fertilizer formula is based on Algamol’s protocol with unique elements to optimize efficiency.

Air and Carbon Dioxide

The system is closed and based on the circulation of filtered enriched air. The system allows the release of oxygen to the environment.

Water System

The system is adjusted to operate with a medium in diverse salinities. The water is filtered and purified to allow the growth to succeed. The water circulates through an external cooling system that allows the water temperature to be maintained to an accuracy of 1 Celsius.

Control

System Control

There is a system that broadcasts 24/7 the growth data of the algae and water quality. The system is connected to a computer that controls and documents all the parameters required for growth. With the help of cameras, it is possible to see the culture in the growth tank

The Rotation of the Culture

The rotation is created by the pump’s capability and the force of gravitation. The vertical mixing method is significantly more economical in power consumption for operating the pumps. The rotation is distributed within two water tanks according to the needs and continues even after the pumping has stopped.

Infections Control

In case of infections, a simple protocol for infection treatment is executed during the growth cycle.

Harvesting

The harvesting is performed continuously daily. The duration of the harvest period can continue for several weeks and if necessary a batch harvest of the entire culture can be carried out. Harvesting in the first stage is carried out automatically with the increase in culture density. During the harvest, the process of returning the medium to the crop is carried out automatically – the harvested water is recycled back to the system after treatment and filtration, and the water loss is negligible

Routine operation and maintenance

No expensive professional manpower is needed for the operation. (For a farm of 20 PBRs, 3 people can be satisfied). Parts of the system meet food standard compliance requirements. All parts can be replaced quickly without having to stop the system and it is characterized by low wear. The system is resistant to outdoor conditions and there is no need for protection from rain or sun.

System Cleaning

The cleaning and disinfection process consists of several stages and lasts about 60 minutes per PBR. It is fully operated while cleaning. The cleaning liquids are not containing any solvents or detergents hence environmentally friendly. The entire cleaning process can be performed by only one employee.
